Martin (1945) D-28 "Bone"
It seems we see less vintage herringbones coming through the shop every year, rarely do we see them as clean as this one! She’s 100% original and crack free. This 1945 “bone” doesn’t have the scalloped bracing of prior years, but it’ll still do it’s best to “kill a banjo”. The sound is wonderfully woody, and crystal clear.
She’s an early ’45 and still sports plastic buttons on her open back Kluson’s. The Brazilian rosewood on the back & sides is about straight as it gets, and being a 1945 the top is still Adirondack spruce.

Martin (1954) D-28
This near-mint condition D-28 has a serial # of 134573. Making it the 72nd that Martin produced in 1954. It features a visually striking set of Brazilian Rosewood on it’s back and sides, and a lighter colored white-grained Spruce top that one would swear it’s Adirondack. The headstock sports a set of sealed-back Kluson tuners, that still looks shiny and new!
The fretboard and bridge are jet-black ebony. The overall condition is incredible. The only thing making it near-mint is a small hair line fracture running parallel to the edge of the pickguard. The pickguard has been ironed flat and there are no cleat on the inside.
The finish has only the most minimal of checking and playing wear. The sound is big and crisp, with great definition. And Oh Yeah, did we mention? She’s LOUD!

Martin (1955) D-28
This excellent + condition D-28 is one of favorite sounding vintage guitar currently in stock. It’s mid-range seems to jump right out without upsetting the balance. It seems to posses that woody sound you just don’t find in new guitars.
The instrument has 1 cleat under a hair line crack running along the pickguard edge, and someone did install a strap pin in the heel of the neck.
Otherwise, she’s in great shape and plays beautifully.
